Oil cooler fan temp sensor thread size

Hi -

I am in the process of upgrading my trombone unit to the later style. I won't be using a fan and the correct sensor is $86. I'd like to just plug the hole. Can anyone tell me the size and thread type of the sensor?

Thanks
Scott

Well, you can always change your mind later.

But your question has me puzzled:

On my late Carrera cooler set up by Elephant Racing there was no 'hole'. I didn't initially opt for a fan either but changed my mind because of city stop and go driving. I chose an after market pusher fan that activates at a certain temperature. We merely mounted and secured the sensor on the cooler's vanes.

In stop and go driving, unless you live in the Arctic, even the 'later style' you mention, (and I presume it's the late Carrera type), can cause your oil temps to get out of hand. If you have a ER type cooling system, call Chuck Moreland and ER and discuss this with him. If not seek out a sensor activated pusher fan.

Best,

Tom

1/4 NPT Thread.

3/4 in. depth.

Use Anti-Seize.

Good luck,

Gerry

I used a fan but not the sensor. I put a switch on the dash w/relay for fan control. Extremely helpful in stop/go traffic or when working on the car engine running.
Makes a big dif.
