Blower not working- where do I start

My 911sc blower does not work, however I'm not sure if I'm switching it on -it must be the most confusing system ever!

Where do I start on an complete check of the system?

It a very general question as its all new to me so any advice would be great- pictures help.

Thanks

your owners manual should show how to turn them on. If they still don't come on - there is an electric blower on the top driver side of the motor and one behind the front dash . In either case I would start by disconnecting the connectors and jumper power to them and see if it is the blower or the control.

Is the blower not working a common fault?
And can they be fixed?

This thread talks of the blower motor in the engine compartment. I don't think there is a quick fix like this for the fresh air blower.

However, you have not verified if it is or is not broken. Do you work on cars?

Yes old fords which are different.
I do know my limits however if I can identify a "simple" cause I will try to fix.

The best way to learn is by working on them obviously I don't want to break it ! 🙃http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1461329742.jpg

You are fine then. Just some wrenching experience. You have that.

I have an 81. Heading over to shop now. Lemmie try to figure out where to tell you to look.

Is that a Mad Max car? Cortina?

Key to on. Slide top lever to right. Blower is on. Simple as that.

How hard is the lever to move? It drives cables which actuate switches.

Lever flops about, not even sure there is a cable connected.
This is my first check.

If you're referring the fresh air blower in the Frunk then you can figure it out pretty quick. Mine car sat for 12 years in a storage unit so I had to tinker to get stuff working again.

The blower motor is in the frunk behind the dash, in the middle. Once you crack the fan housing you can put 12 volts right on the motor from your battery and see if it starts spinning. Mine just needed a little help.

If the motor runs the you can pull the dash control unit with all the sliders and connect the terminals from the back. Those control the fan and it's (3?) speeds.

On my car I had to give the fan motor a little push with my finger because it sat so long, after that it worked fine. My dash controller was also warped/misaligned, so I had to pull that and replace it.

Yep.

Thing is I think the cables drive the switch. I am on my phone so can't even look up the lever mechanism.

Where you at? Ending a question with a preposition is legal in Midwest USA, btw.

Thanks pmax that diagram helps !

fresh air blower is on or off. AC evaporator fan has three speeds controlled from knob on console.

I don't know if the lever control unit has electrical switches in it. I can find out but that means a big fat bastard puts on his scuba gear to go under the dash.

Can't do that as I am offsite from car.
