Manual Window Regulator Repair

The pivot pin on my window regulator bit the dust. I removed the regulator and ordered new pivot pin.

Once I got the regulator out, I realized that it was seized (which explains the pivot pin breaking). I managed to unfreeze the arms, cleaned it up, and lube em up with some silicon spray.

The new pivot pin came in, and I installed it. BTW, I ordered the wrong one, I need the parallel one, not the perpendicular one. Never-the-less, I put it together while waiting on the new part. The thing is, what difference would it make? I don't see anything that would necessitate either configuration. What am I missing? What holds the pivot pin in? Does that screw serve any purpose? My previous pivot had no screw.

I found that when I replaced mine....I could "index" the pin to get a better spring tension which helps in the feel of the mechanism.
BTW ... I made my own pins....and instead of the 2 flat s I machined four flats so I could index by 90 deg.
The screw holds the pin in the backing plate...I don't know what comes in a kit...but the screw I used had a very big head (slotted) and covered the hole nicely so that the pin could never move.

OK, I figured out the err in my ways. If you see the pic, the 2 orange arrows show where the pivot pin is supposed to go.

I installed the regulator and YEAH, the window goes up now. Here is the problem. It doesn't go down...at least no gracefully. When the window goes down, the front part of the window will go down, the back part of the window stays put. I can get the window down if I push it, after about 3 inches, the window can be cranked as normal.

Here is a video of the window. Any thoughts?
