Holy...thats one helluva rustbucket. I have seen worse being rebuilt, but still it is hard to look at those pictures and think something good would become of that..

No Hope! It would be easier to build a duplicate from scratch than try to bring that thing back. Who just parks one of those "outside for 20 years". Real Shame

Well, it was not a Porsche, but an old Chevy. Grass and a tree had gone through the car and windows. Roof was intact though http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif It had to be cut off from that place with a chainsaw (Tree branches)

My project!

Holy Bondo Batman! What I'm suprised about is that no one took the engine. Carbs and stuff are gone but it still has the matching number engine. Usually any rare car in that condition certainly doesn't have an engine anymore.

My dad's got an awesome set of tools - I think I can fix it!

Hmmmmmm....those pics actually make me feel better.

I do like the 2x4 crossmembers and torsion bars though.

...if the guy is here in Cleveland then the lake it was found in is Erie. I just emailed privately, I'll get some answers from the guy! Maybe I will go take it for a test roll.

Unless you are a very talented welding engineer, independently wealthy, and with nothing to do, that one's a loss.
You could use it as a "pattern" for a Tubframe car, but that's about it. 20 years ago it might have been salvaged.

Yea you could probably push the engine with your hand and it would fall out anyways (no tools necessary) take the engine then tell him he can keep the car heh.

You guys underestimate the will-power of 356 enthusiasts. Many of the fine 356's you see in concours, looked like the one on e-bay before a skilled owner started work.

Too bad Brett Johnson doesn't frequent this board. I'd love to hear his opinion on this one. Makes his Excellence car look like a barn find compared to this heap. My heart goes out to it- I truly wish I had a sheetmetal fabrication shop, a welding shop, a bottomless bank account, and 3 free years.
