Have gutted cat, test pipe worth it on 3.2?
I know this has been asked a bunch of times before, but I couldn't find a definitive answer.
I already have a gutted cat. Is it worth replacing it with a test pipe? There are no emission controls in my area either way. |

if the gutted cat is simply hollow (i.e. you can see straight through it), can't see how a test pipe (being a hollow pipe as well) would add any benefit.

nothing to lose (except time to install) by substituting a test pipe -- seem to sell pretty quickly in the Pelican marketplace. However, since you're emission exempt, suspect you'd see more demonstrable changes going with new (more) equal length headers and a dual in muffler (i.e. rarelyl8 or flipped 993 headers)
