Pretty sure it's straight forward- the spring hinge is bolted into the fender with 3 small machine screws. You can access them from the wheel well. Hope that makes sense

No fun....on my 87.....there is usu a ton of dirt then there is that rubber undercoating that covers the 3 screws . Remove the tire then poke around and with a screw driver the screw heads can be uncovered, the AC drier might be in the way , it just has to be moved out of the way.
