We have 17" for Turbo fender 78SC - - race car - - but same body as OP.
We widened our front 8" to 10.5" for the rear and put the rear 9" on the front.
Spacers are used to place wheels in the proper location for fender clearance and for us spring clearance on the front.
Tires are 245-40-17 front and 315-35-17 rear - Hoosier R7

I think you are headed in the right direction with your Fuchs . . .

A pic of our rear . . . outer rim made by Bogart ( he also widened a friend's Fuchs). . .

Lots of questions, not sure I have the answers. Ask around and see who can widen wheels. My 10.5 were widened from a 7" wheel.

I'll look tomorrow and get you the offsets and tire sizes I had. I have since moved on to 17s due to tire availability.

Feel free to PM me or email me as well.

Alright, dug up some old info. Here's what was on my car as best as I could tell:

Fronts - 16x8 et 10.6 Porsche part number 911.361.020 45
- 225/50 and rubbed a little on the fender lip

Rears - 16x10.5 originally 16x7 Porsche part number 911.361.020 44
- 21mm spacers used
- 255/50 with good fitment

I have since purchased new wheels with the following specs:

Fronts - 17x9 et 8
- 245/40 with good fitment

Rears - 17x11 et -19
- 12mm spacers used
- 275/40 with perfect fitment

My only gripe with the new setup is the 275 tire has a bit of a stretch to it. I probably should have gotten 17x8 and 17x10. With the power in my car (180 hp) anything wider than the 275 would be overkill and the 275 would have looked better on the 10's.

And just to confuse you a little more, I built these a few years ago for the car. 17x9 and 17x11. Unfortunately I have no specs on these as I picked all the parts up second hand, they just happened to workout really well. I had 245/45 tires up front that were too big, they rubbed on the back side of the front wheel well on full lock.

Beautiful. Thx.
I measured the rear spacers and boy did,I,exaggerate. They are 1.75 " not the three Inches I had stated earlier in the thread.
Pretty pricey widening the rims. After talking to local mechanic and the steering quality for now I am going to stick with the 7's on the front (will add spacers) and 8's on the rear.
Thanks for all the input and suggestions.
Gary
