Rennline crush tubes
Has anyone installed the Rennline bumper crush tubes- replacing their bumper absorption shocks?
Looking that them for weight savings. Any negatives to going this route? Thanks, |

I have crush tubes for weight savings. 4 crush tubes weigh about the same as one shock tube. Just like shock tubes, they take one hit and then they are done. I have not seen any formal studies on the effectiveness of crush tubes (mine have not been tested). I have heard that they are about half as effective. That means your standard bumpers 5 MPH bumpers can absorb a hit at 5 MPH with minimal damage. Crush tubes should be able to take a 2.5 hit Getting hit with either with an impact greater than 5 should have the same result.
I just liked taking even more weight off her rear end. And what guy wouldn’t like that? Don’t report me to the Weinstein police.
