Question Tranny Mounting bolts to long

I am currently putting together a 3.0L 914-6. I went to put the 901 tranny on the engine and realized the tranny mounting bolts from the 1981 3.0L 911SC engine were too long..
A.?? Can I take off the mounting bolts from the original 914 1.7L engine and use those in place of the 3.0L 911 bolts?

B.?? Also can I just double nut the bolts on both engines to take them out?

C.?? What torque spec is there for rhese bolts on the 911 engine?

Any alternatives would also be helpful also.
Thanks in advance!

yes you can use the lower bolts from the 4cyl. double nut or visegrips. the top bolts from the 4cyl of course can't be used. just crank em up tight by hand. good and tight is sufficient. you can't torque every last nut and bolt on the car to spec. you learn to gauge torque by feel after awhile.(except for the important stuff)

Thanks for the help.
??What type of bolts should I use for the top mounting bolts?
Also what do you recommend for the nuts.
Should I go with Lock nuts?
Thanks again
Justin

the top mounting hardware is a stud on the starter side for sure and either a stud or a bolt on the other side. 914s used nuts and bolts which don't relate here. find a good hardware store or a fasteners supply house that has a good assortment of metric fasteners, or hit a porsche wrecking yard or repair shop.
