Exclamation Porsche Weltmeister Spoiler Protection Skid Plates... Instalation Help

OK... Like some of you, I got stuff that I still did not installed. So I got the kit last year and if it came with instruction... I can not find them.

I called Weltmeister but it turn out as useful as tits on a bull... I use my Search friend to no avail. The only thing I found is a photo from Wayne's competitor site

So using to photo, I try to figure it out. While I'm not an engineer despite playing one for the last 35 years for the Navy, I hope I got it right. If not please tell me. I did not thigh the lock nut yet but will tomorrow morning as our PCA chapter are going to Mont-Tremblant for a couple of lap and the road back is very bumpy.

This kit use to tow hook (supposed to sandwich it) but according to the write up at P.P. and the other guy's, drilling is required... I just can not figure out the drilling part.

So here are the pictures. Always showing the right front side looking sideway.

Thanks

J.J.

The Kit

Photo from another site...

Tow hooks (right one is the far one)

Installed looking right to left (look like the other guy site photo)

Both side installed (left to right)

They look fine but I for some reason I think I've seen them upside down.. (the roundy part goes down not the flat). Good luck!

That is what I though too but as they are they match the sale photo and they will not physically fit the other way.

We are going to be around 80 car at Mont-Tremblant so some else should have them on

Have you tried turning them around 180 degrees so that the point faces front instead?

I was looking at the little product photo you included. It almost looks like it was taken from behind where these mount on the car, looking toward the front of the car.

You also might have tried this very thing.

i immediately painted mine black

i eventuallyy beat them so much they looked like the car was dragged around the block balanced on them. One eventually fell off and also with it goes the original center bar. The only sideways support is the bar so they eventually will flex off if you beat them as hard as me.

i have a set of Rennline Tie Downs #E03.04 in waiting

I came to the same conclusion but when I try to fit it physically, I could not fit it.... maybe I`m a mental midget like my wife tell me

kodioneill

Your picture is worth a 1000 word, but as I mentioned above when I try to fitted that way, I just could not get/figure it out. Do you have the instruction and did you have to drill like the site mentioned? If so, please email to DasBabe@rogers.com

Thanks guys

Hi Erick,

No drilling required for any of those add on.

Logicaly they should be like kodioneill got them on.

Because to original were kind of squished (23 years of POs), I just could not fitted them with the curve down with a proper angle so I left them as showed in post 1.

Another project for when I'm retired, 14 months to go but who's counting

I had a set of those red rennline units when I was running my 911 at DE, and the car was lowered.

hit a curbing at parking speed and just folded that thing under. since the car is retired from the track, dont need the tow hook capability, so I put my old skid plates on that are shown by the OP.

put a bull ring on my 951 DE car.
