Anyone have experience installing vintage BMW M seats?
I am considering installing a pair of vintage BMW M seats in my '77 project - with "cat ear" headrests : ). They look to have taller bases that stock seats and I am concerned about headroom. Do I need to remove the mounting rails in the car or perhaps cut a re-weld them to a lower position?

As I recall they were too tall to mount with the standard sliders, so you will have to find a way to mount them lower. In retrospect I should have tried a little harder, even if I had to mount them in a fixed position w/o sliders, they were well-made buckets.

I tried once. The sliders were the problem. Not an easy substitute. Went back to the the originals and was a good call.
