Selling an old car today. Sign the title over at 4:30 eastern. Looking for something that I can print out that basically says No warranties and the car is "as is"

To the best of my knowledge the car is in great shape but it is 7 years old and has 96K miles on (american) so who knows what could happen in the future.

Any help out there from our legal minded members.

Something very simple that says exactly that--the car is sold with the buyer's understanding that it is as-is, and that you've made no warranties or guarantees for its performance implied or otherwise, and that the sale is final under any circumstance. Simple is good.

It's best to write up something that says:

This car, 199x Black 911, VIN #445446434, is being sold as-is, where-is by Your Name to Their Name for $xx,xxx on December 20, 2002. There are no warranties expressed or implied by the buyer in this contract.

Make two copies and you both sign both of them - the buyer keeps one, you keep one.

i would maintain your insurance until you are sure the car has been titled in the other guys name. if something haappens on the way to the court house it is still officialy " your " car.

Thanks for all the suggestions. That is why I love this board. I had some answers with in minutes of me posting. Can't ask for anything more.

Had to postpone the deal until Monday due to some work related issues. Gotta love Christmas.
