Embarassing Targa Question

Okay, I feel really dumb, but I have to ask. On the inside of the roll bar on my 1980 911SC Targa, there are two plastic grills (one on either side) which are held in place at the bottom by the upper seat belt bolt. I can't determine what holds them in place on the top side. Does anyone know what these are and how I can remove them without doing any damage?
