Sparco seats in 87 930 - which brackets?
Hi!
I'm looking to install a Sparco EVO driver, and an EVO II passenger seat in my car. I do not plan on using sliders. The seat mounting rails on my tub are stock, and I would prefer to keep them that way if possible. Which Sparco side mounts have you guys used to install these seats? The standard ones or the straight versions? Thanks, ![]()

Are you going to want sliders?
I'm in for answers as well, since I just hard-mounted an Evo to the stock rails of my '86 using the standard Sparco brackets--but I had to mount the outboard bracket "backwards" (otherwise the brackets were 2" too far apart) and I'm not really satisfied with that solution. It did net me the extra headroom I wanted. Edit: for clarification, I used bracket A with the inboard bracket mounted normally, and the outboard backwards. This limited how low I could get the seat and seems sturdy, but can't be ideal. Bonus: it did move the seat further inboard to better align with the pedals.

Good point that I forgot to mention. No sliders. I will update the original post to reflect this as well.

I just did Evo III on sliders in my car. Had to cut down the shoulders and remold them to fit. Love them.
The tech at Sparco Irvine told me that since I was using Sparco sliders I should not use the aluminum brackets. Too much flex. No sliders and the aluminum are ok. |

Oops, I didn't use the A brackets, mine are steel (no flex whatsoever).

Thanks. I'm trying to see if I will need to order A for one side and B for the other, given the difference in widths for the standard EVO and the EVO 2. I don't see any drawings for the mounts like they have for the seats on the Sparco site.
Anyone else run this setup? Thanks in advance!

C and A will not work with your seats (the evo 2 that is) you will need the "b" to make the setup as narrow as possible.
do you have a sunroof? when I installed my evo 2 seats I could not get them to sit low enough on my car to fit a helmet and still have head clearance. the issue is the seat is wider than your stock mounts so the seat can not sit low enough- I had to do a good amount of work to my car to make them fit- if you would like to talk over the phone shoot me a pm and we will connect here is what I had to do ![]() |
