Red face Need Vacuum Pod Parts 1983sc

I am in the process of rebuilding my Vacuum Pod Bosch 1-237-122-763 for my 1983 911sc. Does anybody have donor pods for parts? Any nonworking pods would be greatly appreciated! This pod has the two vacuum lines advance and retard. Any donor is wanted.

Sal,
I don't have any donor parts. Hope someone can help you out.
If I ever get in your position I'll just get a programmable MSD ignition box and set my advance in that manner.

are you saying you want to open up the vacuum advance and fix it that way?
ive heard its possible but its not easy. what ive done is get a used mercedes 280 unit and with a small mod- use it on the 911. right now im running a bmw 525 unit that i found brand new and it works great. pm me and ill tell you where to find one NOS that will work for you, i think its a bmw unit

its difficult to find one that fits the 6 cyl distributor

Vacuum Pod pics

Here are some more pics the rust ruined the spring in on the backside (retard). The diaphragms appear to be OK.

I even think that the guts of a Porsche 914 might work as long as it is an advance/retard type. My concern would be the rear spring that was rusted out would have the same tention.

Thanks

sal

I'm trying to understand what this numbers on the shaft means. I tried to research it and I thought I read somewhere that the stamped number in the shaft means the calibration of the pod . Correct me if I'm wrong. Is the first number 2 means 2 lbs spring tension and the rest 763 is 7.63 cm length of shaft from diaphragm to end of shaft ?? I purchased a pod for the same year and they keep giving me a different part number which has a longer shaft. The new number is 2865 in the shaft if I recall. Is this means same tension but longer shaft ??? Thanks

I will measure the arm and check this out. I so this info will come in very handy for finding the correct spring?
