Lifting an early 80's IB 911 with a forklift?
Looking at buying a rolling body internationally, and have been warned that there's a risk of someone lifting it with a forklift to move it about during packing.
Whilst I'm doing what I can to avoid this scenario, I am keen to hear feedback on anyone having witnessed this before, and what the potential risks are (other than the obvious ones such as it being dropped, driven into something...). |

The hard oil lines running along the passenger side might get crushes when doing this. Also the floor pan might carve in a little. Both isn't good. Ideally one would use 2x4 properly positioned under the unibody to spread the load and avoid weak points.

A pallet works well to distribute the weight, especially on just a shell.
Pretty sure you aren't going to get a shipping company to push it off and on a ship. |
