Bulk order Rant

I don't rant very much. I certainly got a lot of good customer service from Pelican but the last order went way off kilter. And it is not getting better after several calls.

I ordered 2 meters of 22mm bulk cloth cover breather hose. I paid for 2 meters, my order said so (on line).

I got 1 meter shipped to me. I called the service line and I asked why I only got 1 meter instead of 2. The lady said "we sell it by the meter."

I have never heard of buying Bulk hoses and having them cut to 1 meter at a piece and shipped in multiple pieces.

So I replied to her:

It says Bulk on your product description. The picture on your web site shows a spool of wires clearly longer than 1 meter. I paid for 2 meters, and I need one single piece 2 meters long, not 2 pieces 1 meter each. I was going to cut them myself....

So she went away and found that they can ship hoses in lengths longer than 1 meter. And now she wants me to pay for another meter so they can ship 2 meters out because I only paid for 1m.

I checked online, and I clearly was charged for 2 meters....

This is uncharacteristically troublesome. I have never had this much trouble.

tried emailing Wayne or someone else in customer service? Takes about same amount of posting here which is less than productive.

Hello! First, I'd like to apologize about this. Can you shoot me a PM with your order number? I'd love to get this resolved for you. :)

Wayne himself picked up a minor issue of mine off of their queue once, rectified it in a second and shot me an email - had to be about 1 am PST around the thanksgiving weekend. I'll never forget it.

sounds like you're in good hands now yelcab.

It's the signs of the quality of workers that walk in our society these days. Some University students don't even know what "September 11th " refers to. Sad but true as I saw it on one of the news channel.

Yeah, it feels like that was just a couple years ago. Thanks for making me feel old...

Not to turn this into a conversation about 9/11 or veering off very far from the OP's initial comment, but it's truly unfortunate about that. Although I bet I wasn't all that clear until I got older about even big things that happened when I was 10 years old. Elvis who? People live in their own reality which is of their time, not others'. How many people under the age of 50 know the significance of November, 1963? Those who don't remember are destined to make the same mistakes.

As a comment in the direction of the original post, I have found that most customer service is lacking in recent years. There are some stand out CS still for sure, but I think the general trend is not in that direction. I'm glad Luccia is on it for you.

+1 'Roger' that...

Recently I had same problem as you - ordered different hoses per meter but received individual pcs of 1 meter .
Since I am in Japan - for price of hose it is not worth it for me the shipping and returning. Next time I will look locally.
But now I need connectors to splice 1 meter pieces :) :)
