Front slam panel on a backdate
Hi All,
I am interested in what has been done with the gap between the longhood and the bumper when backdating. There is a good-sized space there that wants some kind of filler. I am thing to bend up a perforated sheet of aluminum into a panel there. Here is mine and some material i am considering using...I guess strictly I should leave it out as it doesnt add speed... Thanks for your pics and suggestions! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464230833.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464231021.jpg |
Maybe it's just my bumper, but I'm pretty tight against the panel as-is. I've seen people put black foam padding in the gap though.

I am not sure that a perforated sheet will form very well as any closing panels needs a reasonable amount of shape.
We 'wheel' these up in aluminium , paint them black or body colour and pop rivet them into place. http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...pswg9ik2k0.jpg |

Any other pics out there? |
I used some black vinyl with the rubber bumper gasket. It filled the gap well.
In my photo, the vinyl is not smooth because I didn't glue it in, it's just screwed in along the top. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464275041.jpg |
