Complete carpet

Does anyone know where I can get the complete carpet setup for my 1982 911 Targa? I want to change the color of the interior and I have not been able to find a place that makes the carpet for 911's with choices of colors.

Topshelf, I apologize for hijacking your thread, but what type/style carpet should I buy if I want to replace what's in our 73E? I seem to remember seeing three or four choices offered and I wanted to hear what y'all think looks right in an early car.

Carpet kits are fun to install on 911s; big "pay off" because it makes the interior look so much nicer if the original carpet is worn out.

The hardest part I found to "get right" was installing the kick pocket carpet. There is a section of vinyl that wedges into the door seal, I had a devil of a time with that.

Removing the old glue is fun too. Make sure you have lots of ventilation if you use goop remover.

Does the Goop/glue remover damage the paint? Does it work on crusty old glue? I'm trying to clean up a few areas in the luggage compartment.

Here's a little hint...Keep track of what piece you remove in what order, and trial fit everything before you glue it back. Ask me how I know.. Seems obvious, but some pieces need to fit before others. My car was just a tub and boxes of parts when I bought it. The carpet (as well as a lot of little interior doohickeys) was kind of like a jigsaw puzzle withouth the picture...

The best place to order a new carpet set is from Original Fit interiors. I will try to find his number. He makes interiors for 911 at a very reasonable price. I just finished my 1984 Targa.

I bought mine from Autos International and was pleased with the quality. A bit more expensive than OFI I think.

Uhhhhh, Chuck, JT, I think you guys are missing something.

Pelican (here) would be much better than those other two!

Cool Complete carpet

I would rather buy the carpet from Pelican Parts, but I have not seen anything about the complete carpet, just floor mats. And of course if the price is right. I have found everything that I need at the Pelican except the complete carpet. If you know where to find it please let me know.

Thanks
Chuck

Uhhh... I only noticed kits up to '89... are there kits out there for 90 and newer? My 90 cab could use a freshin' up

A bit off topic and on that dreaded "how much is it worth" subject... out of the blue today a guy I work with asked me if I'd be willing to sell him my car. Asked what I'd want for it. Needs fresh carpet and the seats could use a bit of freshin' as well. It's tight as a drum and just had "big" service done. It's got 117k on it white tip with blue top (just replaced with 993 style) and tan interior. I'll post pics later under a separate thread. Provided you guys don't flame me too bad

I'm with the previous post. I'd love to get just the driver's side floormat in SL-3 Brown Silver Knit for my 79!

Cool Carpet Parts

Check out the Pelican catalog. I recently ordered the front floor
pieces for my '80 SC coupe. On a hunch, I also asked about the small piece that goes over the pedals and was able to buy that for an additional $25.00. If you don't see something, call and ask,
the Pelican guys have been very helpful with my questions and requests!!

Good Luck,

Fred Cook

Hey, Wayne. Is it possible to get the center portion only of the carpet set for the front baggage compartment on an 87 Carrera? Thanks.
