Mysterious electrical connector? What year did heated seats become a factory option?
I just purchased these seats for my '78 SC. I believe they are very early sport seats (pre 1980). The previous owner told me they came out of a turbo.
Upon investigation, they both appear to have electrical connectors coming out of the bottoms. These appear like factory connectors. Anybody have any idea what they are for? Could these be heated seats? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464484649.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1464484665.jpg |
Heated seats.

However, some early P-Car owners did add aftermarket heated seats. Best, Gerry |
It might be an interlock relay. The late Warren Hall discusses this here.

Heated seats became an option starting in 1985.

Interlock.
Unless consideration was given to both LHD & RHD cars,
I think just the driver's seat & not both seats would have the interlock. Place an Ohm meter across the contacts, sit in the seat & check for a change in resistance. Good luck, Gerry |
