911 sc performance airbox cover
hi
several subject discussed a few years ago about performance improvment with a custom airbox cover like the fabspeed or other copies ![]() I've seen the 1983 SC airbox have 38mm OD intake regarding the 44mm OD intake for the 1978/1979 SC some of you have done dyno or performance comparaison to really see if this airbox cover bring 5 or 10 more hp ?? thanks for your feedback |

the cover will give you maybe .05hp- a good air filter will give you an additional 1-2hp max but a whole lot more sound + some cool looks-

Looks only....imo, waste of money unless you are into decoration.
BTW, the 'good' air filter is the stock paper filter.....the popular 'oil' filters (once only sold as racing air filters) let in fine dust/particulate matter...the paper does not. I live in the Az desert, I've seen the dust/dirt under a well maintained oiled mesh gauze filter that does not exist when changing to a stock paper. I was getting my carb dirty and the idle jet blocked using one.
