Remember how excited you were when you got your Porsche? Well, that's how my wife is feeling today as she drove home in her '00 Boxster S.
I did get to drive the little rocket, albeit very briefly. I had driven a few Boxsters before, but not the S. The performance is amazing....acceleration, braking, handling...wow! The motor is very smooth, great gearbox, but the exhaust is far too quiet for a sportscar. Too bad it's so nice...I have a feeling I won't be getting much seat time in "her" Porsche. ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website "If it ain't broke...we'll help you fix it 'til it is!" |

What's hers is hers. What's yours is also hers, but obsolete?

Got to take the B-Bomber out tomorrow to let her know I still love her. Worst part of this deal is my motorbikes are now pushed into the margins of the garage by the "new arrival".
Ever had to deal with a cranky H-D, Norton or Ducati? ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website "If it ain't broke...we'll help you fix it 'til it is!" |

Nice addition Doug. I've driven a similar car and had the same reaction. Liked the handling and performance but it was almost too quiet.
I also still don't know what to think about not being able to pop the lid and check out the motor. What's your take on that? As for shunned bikes...my BMW R1100S will get pushed off to the cold side of the garage where its mirrors must be folded to fit once I have my car. My wife brought that up today. "Are you ever going to ride your bike after you get a 911?" Of course my answer was yes. It was a good question though! |

Anyway, Mrs. Z likes not to worry about the nuts and bolts, oil and grease, etc. And why should she? She's got *me* to deal with all that nasty stuff! ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website "If it ain't broke...we'll help you fix it 'til it is!" |

Just checked, and sure 'nough...it says "Boxster S" on the label. (Seriously, the picture, for illustration only, is of a 2.7 we tested 2 weeks ago but did not buy. The car we bought is the same silver/red.) [This message has been edited by Doug Zielke (edited 10-12-2001).] |
