What do you think of this

I'm totally obsessed with all things 911 since I was a kid, bought my first this summer and ever since can't help but continue to look....its like a disease.....

I've seen this older model on ebay a few times, just curious what the early '70s gurus think of this car from the information provided and the pics....

Not going to purchase at this point, probably would get tossed out of the house but eventually I'd like to add something like this to my garage....

Just curious to get some feedback from someone who's totally bitten by the p-car bug....

Any car that old with original paint, and still looks that good, can't be bad. I don't care much for Sepia, but it's period and I wouldn't pay too much attention to it (you aren't looking at it when you're driving it!). Looks like a very nice car.

I think this car was posted a little while ago. It looks like they put armour all everywhere on that car! I would bring some degreaser and a few rags before I drove it, I wouldnt want to slip out of the seat!

I looks like a very nice car though....

unless the camera shows a different shade, that is not sepia brown, but the nicer darker shade (don't remember the name) anyway- looks like a nice candidate- get them to take some in trunk and under car shots of the front and rear suspension so you can check for rust. The front pan area is notorious for rusting out. It can be replaced, but usually costs about $1000-1300 to do it right

So by nice candidate do you mean would this qualify for a nice 3.6 l upgrade? fiberglass flares, etc?

no- i actually appreciate the Porsches in all their forms; from totally stock (with weird colors even) to full on Frankensteins (well... almost , some e bay offerings have more plastic than Pamela Sue Anderson in them!!!)

Adam, it's a nice candidate to buy. Of course, price and true condition need to be factored in.

Anyone notice it looks like the Fuchs were painted with a brush? Look at the edges... Makes you wonder what other shortcuts were there though. Looks pretty good in pictures...

Looks more to me as though someone did a sloppy masking job and then spray painted them...

Coolest item on the car, in my opinion, is the vintage Racemark wheel that has probably been out of production for at least 20 years.

A roller is a good candidate for a 3.6 conversion not a nice car in original condition. To take this car and do a conversion would be a waste of your money and a waste of a nice original car to boot.

You see to do a 3.6 conversion means, that besides the motor, you also need to do suspension and brakes. You'll find that the nice original seats are not appropriate in a 3.6 conversion(no proper support). While your at it you better change the tranny for a 915. The list goes on. You see where this is going. You've just taken a nice original car and taken everything valuable about it off the car and maid it into a roller that you could have paid thousands less for.

Chris, I noticed the wheels too but I think what that actually is is that the paint is worn off. I've seen Fuchs paint wear on the edge like that before.

Oh no don't get me wrong I wouldn't destroy a nice original car like this! From the pics she seems like a nice ride, I too love the steering wheel....

For my next addition part of me wants to do the roller conversion...and bring one back from the dead, and part of me wants something with carbs...nice and original for sunny summer days....

Just was curious for some feedback I have no experience with the older model 911, actually cancel that I'm a newbie to all through and through but learning quickly thanks to this board!

Those Racemark wheels are very difficult to find. Mark Donohue either owned or partly owned Racemark, as I recall. A buddy of mine bought one on eBay a couple of years ago for around $300. -- Curt
