Can this turn signal lens be original from Einmalig?
i' ve purchased two turn signal lenses from Einmalig. I saw only one picture of it on Ebay. I paid 300USD for the pair. I thought i was lucky.
They said (and you can see on the picture) there is a BOSCH marking on it. As i know non of the new production (or reproduction) lenses has the Bosch marking. So it must be NOS or FAKE. Einmalig said it's original. But how can it be possible, that i've purchased this pair and they are still on Ebay? I don't think that they have more of NOS lens pairs. Not to mention that the NOS lenses have a much higher price. Even more than twice as much. And somebody here on Pelican Forum said that there are already FAKE lenses around with Bosch marking, but this and the other markings on the surface are not correct. I trusted Einmalig,l because they are on the market for a long time. Now my lenses are on the way to me with USPS to Hungary. So what should i do now? I have two options: 1. Sending back the package without opening so i don't have to pay 100USD customs fee+taxes and i can get my money back from paypal with opening a dispute about fake product. 2. Pay 100USD customs fees, opening the package and if i'm lucky i will find two NOS lenses in the box. If i'm not lucky (i bet i'm not) i will find fake lenses inside so i have to send them back paying the postal fees back to California and never get the 100USD customs fees back. If Einmalig sells Fake lenses it's also against the Ebay "laws". Some advices please ASAP!!!! ---------------- I upload here the cutting path for door panels i made with CAD. You can use it to laser cut the door panels. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0PuC64HOndvbUdaOFNiWVNjTkU/view?usp=sharing

If you're basing your belief that they're fake on the fact that he could not have more than one pair, think again. I've been in the back of Einmalig, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a hundred sets of NOS everything.

+1 Einmalig - I'm local to them and they have been dismantling parts from Porsches for decades and their inventory looks it! If you're really concerned, you should give them a call and speak with Brian (owner) and I'm sure he'll clear it up.
Are there even fake early 911 Bosch lenses floating around? |

I have been dealing with Brian for 30 years. And never had any problems. I have been to his warehouse and he has plenty of inventory. I would call him and explain your concerns.

i called him. I could only speak to his colleague. They said this is original. But why is it that a pair of NOS lenses sell around 800USD many times. And sell in a few hours. I sold my US spec lenses here in a few hours for more than 300USD.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but those are the same repros sold by Mr. Fiat. Post some close up photos of the lens markings and a photo of the backside of the lenses and others will chime in and agree, I'm sure.

as for the lenses they were OEM, we offered the customer a full parts refund although he had us ship them to Hungary and then refused them, then complained to PayPal that they were reproductions without ever seeing them, thank you for all that support us

The entertaining part is:
If it is 100% impossible to tell the difference... What is the issue? Does it give out the wrong aura?

I will vouch for the quality of this product. When I was at Carquip we bought and resold many pairs of them. Never once had a complaint.

Brian
I guess the lesson here is you should have charged him $800 just to make him feel better. |

FYI to all out there, as far as we can tell these were NOS original units in Bosch Boxes, but I guess someone could have gone to all the trouble to put excellent reproductions in Bosch boxes and sell them at repro prices, but that's just me talking

also as it turns out someone from the thread contacted me and came by yesterday when the refused parts were returned and purchased them and paid us the $325.00 plus my freight cost I was out. He swears they are OEM and was extremely pleased the gentleman from Hungary welched and posted because now he has what he wants at a fair price. Again thank you to all our non hating supporters

This is funny indeed. I've had the great pleasure of making friends with Brian and Mike at Einmalig. Half my car was once on their shelves.
Gaylords filled with Bilstein struts, 100's of hood, dozens of engines, boxes and boxes of 930 calipers, dozens of fuel rails, etc...as far as the eye can see. Almost every part from every 911 made can be found in the shop somewhere or in the lot out back. Brian buys up old inventories from dealerships that have closed, dismantles wrecks, stocks new parts from Porsche and SSF and the like, runs a full service and repair shop, and offers purchase, exchange, and customer supplied parts restoration. Much of what I've done with them has been to walk in with my old parts and walk out with parts already re-plated. For example look at the picture of my engine. I took my fuel rails off and swapped them for a pair that was already plated. They then sent mine out to be plated so they would be ready for the next guy that wanted the same. My fan strap, engine mounts, and brackets I did the same. things like hose clamps I just bought outright off the website and they shipped them to me. Most bolts I walked in and picked out myself then gave them all my old bolts to be sent off to plating for the next guy after I did the work. I swapped my working autoheat unit for a manual pull unit and watched Mike get all excited because he had someone waiting for a working autoheat unit. Even my 930 calipers and MC, and spring plates and hardware came from Einmalig. It's truly a goldmine. I even swapped my Boge struts for Bilsteins. There is no way I could have afforded to buy brand new Bilstein struts. Oh, I even got the cores for my rear coilovers from Brian. Got the coilover kit from RSR and took the old Sports down to Bilstein Poway myself. Anyway, honest, upfront, legit, convenient, regular guy that loves Porsche as much as the rest of us. He's far and away the most honest and upstanding member of the Porsche community (sans Peter Zimmermann) that I know.
