Due to travel schedules, Christmas came early this year and I was happy to find a 930S steering wheel under the tree this morning.
After a quick trip to Sears for a 27mm socket, I tried to install it. Unfortunately it doesn't quite fit. ![]() ![]() The result of this is that the column doesn't stick through the hub enough to get the 27mm nut on. Here's a view from inside with the new hub pushed all the way in: ![]() Are there different versions of the hub available? My wife said she specifed that is was a 1971, but maybe I have a steering column from a later car (lots of parts have been updated). Do I have to remove parts from the old hub and use them instead? I read the various install threads here, but nobody mentioned this problem. Thanks for any advice, - Jon |

Jon, did she buy it from us? We only have the 1974-89 adapter available at this time (the early adapters have been held up due to a snafu with Germany - I expect to get them next week or the week after).
In our catalog, we only list the wheel for 1974-89 right now. I would be happy to swap out the adapter for the correct one when they do come in, if you did indeed buy it from us. (I don't have your order info to check)... -Wayne
