1 - roughly what did the "while you're in there" top end rebuild work set you back? 2 - what brand/model tires and sizes did you buy? I'm thinking Bridgestone RE11 next time. John |
Just to let you know, the shop that is doing the work has build Porsche race cars for years. They also have cars they race themselves. Quality has its price.
My total bill will be in the neighborhood of $13,000. As for the tires, I spoke to the owner of the shop. I decided on the Dunlop DZ102 for its price and it was the style tire I was looking for. They cost $339 from Discount Tire with the online discount they have now. I thought about the RE-11, but I felt they were too aggressive and that The car would not see any track time. Not to say that my next set won't be the RE-11. I'm sure it would be a fun tire to use. 205 55 R16 225 50 R16 |

Good job. What is that piston-looking thing in front of the fan? Neither my '85 nor '88 had such a device. Is this something they use just on convertibles?

Our 1987 turbo cab does not have the piston damper.

I doubt yours is but a lot of conversion (pre 83) do not have the Cabrio engine bar. |

Beautiful car!

Thank you.
