Wong Chip/Fabspeed Cat Bypass & Muffler install

Hello all....just done this and the sound is phenomenal.

I do have an issue with the car almost stalling out when coming to a stop at junctions and so forth......I spoke to Fabspeed and they were very helpful and told me iI needed to adjust the ICV (idle control motor??) 2 turns CCW .

Question is - where is it??

Idle control valve or just adjust the idle?

I am not sure you can adjust the idle control valve, I think you can clean it. You CAN adjust the idle, which is a 7mm bolt right above the ICV. Steve Wong's chip actually should have instructions that show you exactly how to do it.

Here's a picture - The ICV is that cylinder looking thing with the two black tubes coming out of it. The idle control adjustment is the tiny bolt right above it at the center.

There are a few threads on here on how to do it. You need to jumper the test socket on the left side of the engine bay under the black plastic shield. Be careful doing it, but all you need is a 7mm socket and a 10-12 gauge wire to jumper the ICV.

I concur with kyngfish. I took a heavy 12 gauge wire and used it as my jumper wire. Then used the socket and turned up the idle just a smidgen and it fixed it. As a matter of fact, the fix seems to have faded over the past two years and I may need to adjust it again soon.

Welllll

Just because you can do that doesn't necessarily mean it's your problem. But I defer to the other experts on here. Stalling during cold idle may mean a lot of things.

That 7MM bolt is an air bypass-if you experiment you will find there is a range
that the ISV will be effective in-too far open and the idle will always be high and vice versa.
But you shouldn't really have to if the chip is right-in a perfect world.

Which muffler did you go for? I've got the Wong chip, fabspeed cat delete & supercup. Amazing sound.
