O2 sensor wire extension - does it matter?
I have one wideband O2 controller and sensor on the LHS. I added a bung to the RHS SSI headers. I want to check the RHS without adding a new controller, and I have a spare (old) O2 sensor.
I think I can just cut the old sensors wires and splice in 3-4 feet of wire so that I can install the O2 sensor on the RHS side, run the sensor wire over the engine and plug into the controller, without relocating the controller. Total distance is probably 6-7 feet. Does the sensor wire length matter? Can I splice in ordinary copper wire? Anyone know if the innovate lc1 compensates? |
wideband sensor you will be OK adding another one, just remember to just crimp the connections and not soldier
