2004 GT3 tire question?

Hello

I have a question for the tire experts:

I accidentally ran over something on the road and it cut my rear tire.

My rear tire has a depth of still 1/8" or 5mm of thread left before the wear bar, about 5-6K miles on it (michelin pilot sport)

I bought a new tire to replace it,

should I be replacing both rear tires?

Can I just replace just 1 tire?

thanks

yes, best to replace both.

If this was a "normal" non high perf. car for daily driving i'd say you are probably fine but on your GT3, you should replace both. MPS' are pretty soft tires. Don't want to get into a situation where you have a newer, softer tire with full treads along side of an older, harder tire w/ half tread. Esp on rear wheel drive car. Just asking for trouble in adverse conditions.

I'm no expert but that is what i would do.

I'd replace both. I have had several of those and have many customers with them
If you have uneven rear tires you can have some strange handling
