Porsche Mechanic in DALLAS?

I will be moving to Dallas and wanted to know the name of the shop or individual in the DFW area that works on Porsches and doesnt rape your wallet(some of us have budgets) and is honest with his diagnoses and cares about his customers.....

We have a great one here in Pensacola and I will miss him greatly...

Dallas/DFW Metroplex has many very good shops. What part of DFW
will you be relocating to ? That will be helpful in getting you to a
good shop in your area. Be sure to join the Maverick Region PCA
very good bunch and lots of activities and some really great tracks.
Good Luck !

I will be looking in Rockwall. But if I have to drive to Fort Worth to get a good personalble shop that loves Porsches and goes out of their way to help...then I will.

And yes i will transfer to the maverick region and I am looking foreward to some track time there...

Just did road atlanta this past weekend....AWESOME!

Rockwall is a nice area, Lake Ray Hubbard is fun.
I might suggest using Boardwalk Porsche till you get settled.
I have two good friends there who are the best with your two
Porsches. Boardwalk does track support !

This is at Motorsport Ranch three weeks ago.

Try Nine-Eleven Enterprises. Talk to Barry Gibbs. They did a PPI for me three years ago. I had them do some work on the car before I drove it home to PA. Barry was very good to work with. As I recall, he drives an SC. Tell him I said hello.

THANKS! I will look them up.

Speaking of the Motorsports ranch...do you know how much those condos go for at the track...It would be nice to throw in with some other guys and get one...

For your 74 911 you have the best early 911 mechanic in the country. Take it to Mayo performance in Bedford. Ed Mayo is one of the tech writers for Pano and knows the cars better than anyone.

For the Boxster, take it to Ruff.

I would also highly suggest Ed Mayo's shop. Last December I visited Ed's place. He took the time to show me around and show me his personal cars. He works on all model years of 911 and also is a specialist in 914 and 356. He is the technical adviser for PCA for early 911's and 914's.

Good luck,
Gavin

Printing

I am printing this off and putting it in my notes.....

I am going to move up from the 74 and get something with a 3.2 in it and fiberglass all the way around....I guess you would say full time track car.

Only 2 tracks that Maverick uses for DE's? TMS and Motorsports Ranch?

Bring your '74 to Mayo Performance. They're great with the early cars. The Boxster, hmm bring it to a dealer I guess.

I felt nickel and dimed at 911 Enterprises, but that was 10 years ago. After I got an apartment with a garage, I started doing my own work on everything except carbs and ignition.

+1 for Tom & Ed at Mayo Performance

For the Boxster, no reason to pay big bucks at RUF unless you're having them mod the car. Although it's definitely fun to look around while there. I think Ed Mayo has a Boxster himself and he would probably service yours. His labor rates are among the lowest in town despite his stellar rep for quality and all around great service.

Mayo Performance all the way. Ed is great and the head mechanic Tom Petruska is amazing.
They've worked on my '74 with great success.

Buckley Racing.

Ask anyone around the track and they will tell you Jim is a stand up guy who does very good work at a reasonable rate. Not just race cars BTW.

I've had great luck with Jay and Kendall over at Hance's European. Very close to Mockingbird and I-35E. They're very good at laying it all out there and giving you an order of importance on when you should replace something or have maintenance done.
