My engine is out, and I'm eying my rock-hard rubber fuel lines suspiciously...they are more likely than not original to the car.
'83SC with CIS. Has anyone taken the entire assemblies shown in these pics (metal + rubber fuel lines which go to the fuel head) to a local shop for rubber line replacement? What has been your experience? I think the big question for me is that come of the fittings are not re-crimpable (if that's a word). Thanks, Pelicans! ![]() ![]() |

Reach out to Len Cummings (BoxsterGT iirc) on this forum or at Len Cummings @ Verizon.net (remove the spaces). He can remake your fuel lines re-using (and re-plating) the factor metal ends so they are good as new. His work is top notch and he is a straight shooter to do business with.

I have bought from Len previously and he does great work. I was in a pinch and went to a local hose shop and ultimately replaced them due to a leak in one line. One issue I ran into is the hose shop doesn’t have metric hose. You may have better luck in Detroit, but this was a pretty big DFW shop.

Like sigchuck I haven't had good luck in finding good metric hose locally. In the past I took my own lines and fittings sourced from BelMetric to a local hydraulic shop and they crimped them for me. I've since bought my own Cohline crimping tool so I can do them on my own.

I'd go with the Boxster guy if I was you and replace lines through the tunnel since your engine is out. "Someday" you may replace the fuel pump and you'll be happy that you've got new connections up there.

Can the hose in the frequency valve be changed? Should it? I don't have an indication that it is malfunctioning, and John walker says they rarely go bad. More concerned about the hose connecting to it.
Porsche part #930 110 095 01. Seems to be unobtanium. Not my pic. ![]() |

![]() ![]() This is not a hose but Polyamide Tube. It can be replaced, but as JW says they rarely fail. Polyamide tube is practically bulletproof. Its the rubber cover that fails. Here is one I recently made up w Polyamide tube and rubber cover..... ![]() Michael, yours looks good. No need to touch it if I were you. Len ![]() |
