88 3.2 headlamp wiring diagram - european

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the headlight circuit. I've just suffered the sticking headlamp stalk switch problem so have pulled the steering wheel off and looked at the switch but the European system seems to have a dim-low beam set up that the American cars don't? When you put the side (parking lights) on with engine off you get just the parking lights. When you start the engine you get the low beam lights come on but at reduced brightness. Then when you pull the light switch (the round one) out to the headlamp position low beam should then come on at full brightness. I can't see anything which does this dim to bright low beam function. Is there a resistor or extra relay somewhere which puts the two low beam bulbs in series rather than parallel? Will do some voltmeter diagnostics tonight. Thanks

Sounds like the city lights, which are just very small bulbs in the head lights that are wired in parallel with the parking lights.
