Robotek. What does it do? How should it be adjusted?
My car has a Robotek installed on the shifter. I'm not sure what it does. Blocks reverse so you don't accidentally go for 6th? It has an adjustment and was set to all the way open when I bought the car. It rattles and makes a bit of noise so I went to tighten it down. Then I figured I would see if there is a recommended setting and what it actually does.
This is for a 915 Thanks! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...18a3e5df45.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...e2ab0ef803.jpg |
This, I believe, is a Gate Shifter that is equivalent to the Seine Gateshifter. It should load the lever to spring back in line with 3/4. The original gear-shift mechanism didn't have this function and the aim of this and other gate-shifters was to centre the gear lever and ensure that people don't accidentally go 5-2 or 4-1.....
To adjust I suggest that you study how it works and ensure that it is centreing as it is intended. Best of luck, Neil |
What Neil said. The only thing it lacks compared to the Seine Gate Shift is the tab that gets mounted to the shifter lever, along with the gate tab plate that mounts atop the shifter base
Those two pieces make the actual "gate" effect similar to how reverse & 5th gear are captured |
