Might need a PPI for a Cayman in N Carolina .

Looking at a Cayman in Wilmington, NC.
Anyone know of a PPI ?

I have a friend in Wilmington that has a shop, he might be able to perform the PPI, if not he can refer another shop.

I doubt any PPI can catch a potential (real or perceived) IMS failure in the 2006 - 2008 version. While I agree with most that the failure rate is probably overcooked on the online forums, if I was looking at car in that series, I would budget $6-$7,000 for the IMS replacement. That should be built in to sale price. On the other hand, 2009 + later cars are great - I would just take those to the Porsche dealer for PPI / history.

That's funny. People aren't discounting cars $6k to preemptively cover the new owner from an ims failure.

I agree. I am only speaking for myself when I said I would want a $6000 cushion to consider a pre-2009 car. As others have said, someone else may be willing to pay their money and take their chances. I wouldn't.
