I have a 1988 Carrera with 22k miles. Lately, I've noticed that when I remove my foot from the brake, I hear what sounds like a hum. This only lasts a few seconds and the brakes are performing fine.
I originally thought it might be steering related but even taking off from a stop in a straight line causes the noise. It is very faint and you almost have to listen for it. Any ideas? Thanks |

here's my advice. (especially for a 22K mile car)
just keep driving the car and the problem will go away. sometimes i hear a strange noise coming from somewhere underneith the car and as funny as it seems, i just keep driving the car and eventually the sound goes away and I never hear it again. that has happened like 3 times with 3 different "strange" sounds. these cars are funny that way! good luck |

Probably just rust spots on a rotor ... pad going over them under light or no pressure causes the hum. Nothing to cleaning them up with Scotchbrite pad!
