Porsche Crest Fabrication shop needed, auto body in the OC.

Looking for a auto body guy that isn't afraid of fabrication. I have a Hardtop from a 996 Porsche that I want to make fit on my 911 SC. Probably involves taking a section about 2 inches out of the middle and welding it back up and fabricating a new rear window. Relocation of latches, etc.

Needed in North Orange County or within reasonable driving distance.

Thumbs up

In the 356 registry magazine are several metal fab shops as advertisers, one being in OC ( have to wait till I get home for the name) but I am sure they are up to it based on the photos that I saw. Stay tuned

Cheers, Steve

I have a buddy who can do this, I think. He's a member of the community and a great guy.

Randy Inglis, you can find him on Facebook and Instagram under Randy Inglis restorations or call or text him at (951) 522-3384

Good luck, sounds like a fun project.

id like to see photos of all this, not sure how well the 996 top fits the body lines of a sc body but i like the idea. i am guessing its not much more work than the time i reworked the top on a 53 Chevy coupe but the glass makes me worry.

OK....now that I have found a shop. Anyone living in the OC up for a road trip? A warm ass in the passenger seat would let me use the carpool lane and talk to someone besides my Dachshunds.

OC to San Clemente, then up to Norco runs thru some nasty traffic. Free beer and lunch or dinner, no reach arounds.....3-4 hour roundy round.

This fabricator is supposed to have an awesome shop, so that experience is worth it, plus you'd get some photo credit if I pull this pipe dream off.

You know they made a factory hardtop for 83-89 Cabriolets. Google image 911SC cabriolet hardtop.

I had no idea they made a factory hard top for an SC - Carrera - interesting.

I love the idea here - the technology had progressed a million miles, the 996 top is probably way lighter, stronger and quieter than the 83-89 version.

Well, looks like the guy is going to bag it. Too busy for it. Gonna have to pick it up and drag it home.

So either I sell the top or find another fabricator. Any suggestions? Anyone live out near Norco and can lend a hand getting it to Buena Park?

Anyone wanna 997 top, cheap?
