Wait, what? Degree's, Celsius, ambient, vent temps, me confused. No need for ac if its 56 degrees. or am I missing something?

Same here, the audio is really irritating. I am very interested in the product though! Could post some details?

Its an electric driven AC compressor, 40A@12v, so 1/2 HP or so.
I think its a good product for 911s, but I would worry about putting alot of stress on the charging system and the power sounds a bit on the lowside.

All temperatures are Celcius.
56 degrees Celsius is 132 Fahrenheit 30 degrees Celcius is 86 Fahrenheit Sorry about the audio, 911s are noisy! Left hand gauge is vent temp, right hand is cabin temp.

Definately want to see more info, looks super cool!
Fully contained in the frunk? If so, that is the way is should be with nice short lines between the condensor and evaporator. |

The system is fully contained in the luggage bay and weighs under 30 lbs. That weight is now in the right place too, at the front.
The cooling output is almost double that of the factory 964 a/c at idle. Our smart controller regulates output to avoid draining the battery. We are doing hot climate testing through the summer, this is just a sneak preview. Full details will be available soon on our website.

You want hot climate testing? Send me a unit here in TX. We have triple digit heat plus the humidity. Interesting concept. There has been quite a bit of speculation on electric AC systems in past threads. I think 40A is a bit too much current draw. Especially on the early alternators. Is that full current, duty cycle averaged, startup or other?

Jeg's sells the compressor (~$1200), but it does draw a fair amount of current at 12 volts. If it could be made to work, a simple system that doesn't have so much hose length and additional ''stuff' in the engine compartment. I think one of the aftermarket AC vendors (Retroaire?) was evaluating this compressor as well, but I haven't heard any info as to their findings. A bit too expensive to just give it a try in case it doesn't work as advertised.

Our test mule SC has a 75A alternator. If you switch the headlights and rear screen demist on, that's 40A. Switch your wipers and stereo amp on, that's 55A. The alternator is able to handle that no problem.
Our controller has some monitoring smarts which are used to manage power, regulating the compressor if demand elsewhere is high. Yes, it is a compromise but so are a lot of things in a sports car. Early cars are an issue. We are having high output alternators made for them. We might have a car going to Dubai but not certain yet.

This seems like a great idea. What is the price point going to be?

Maybe I missed it, but was there a view of the actual compressor / location? In general, I like the idea.... !

Electric cars have electric AC, so not too far of a stretch to see the systems being perfected enough to work well. Anxious to hear more details.

I dont think electric cars are 12 volt though?
I am interested too. Hope you post more detail on the thread when its ready. It would be really cool if a couple of simple wire hooks ups and quick release points and the bulk of it (say 25 of the 30 lbs) could be removed for track day!
