Question 69' 911S for $4,500

I was told of a 69' 911S for $4,500. I will check it out this weekend. I expect the car to be in poor condition. What would be a fair price for this car in poor condition? Fair condition? Good condition?

Well, I live in Puerto Rico which is 100 miles by 35 miles. There is not much place to hide. I know where the car is. Granted, it could be rusty piece of junk with no matching numbers, but assuming the rust is under control and the numbers match, is 4.5k good for a poor condition 69' S?

Maybe to part out, assuming all the MFI is there and operational.

If you want to drive the car, I would buy one that is already repaired to a great degree. You will get all the repairs that the prior owner did at a very steep discount.

This is a tough one to answer. I guess it depends entirely on what your goals/plans for the car are. (For a while there, I thought tabs, two-oh, ian mortinson, et al was selling his car...the
price sounds about right for it. )

I was told something about the weber carburators not working properly which is already very bad news since this is an indicator that the car is lacking the MFI.

Actually, didn't '69 S come with webers, I though MFI started on the 70'/ 71'. This could be a wild guess, I am no 911 historian.

the 1969 S and E models came with MFI...the T models had carbs.
At the price asked, I'd have to guess you are looking at a parts car. Do you have VIN & engine numbers? If you get them, we can tell you if things match up...

Never mind, it should have the MFI.

Boost,

Yo soy de PR tambien (viviendo en Florida) y tengo 2 1969 911S. Dejame saber si necesitas info sobre el carro. Consigue el numero de serie y lo chequeamos.

Buena suerte, Juan

My father went to see the car, according to him, the car has a couple of rust spots. He offered $2500 and the guy said yes. The serial is 119301129 and it does correspond to an S. I will check the car out myself during the week-end.
