Period Correct Years for Carrera Script Decals
I was reading a recent post related to the Carrera script decals that run along the bottom of the doors above the rocker panels. I like the way these look and it somewhat got me thinking about maybe adding these to my car. However, I'm wondering if there are certain years that these are considered "correct" on and others not. I had always associated these with the mid-70s cars with the ducktails. Does anyone know what years these would have been available from the factory on, or are they even a factory item? My car is an 88 targa, and I'm wondering if it would be considered "period incorrect" or frowned upon to install these on my car. For what it's worth, the car is guards red and I'd install black decals.
Thanks, John |
I'm not an authority. But, unless period correctness is what makes ownership fun for you, I'd go for it. They will look good and make your seat time more enjoyable for you. What's the downside?

just do it! the Carrera script is awesome in every way and lets face it, the mid year 911s look the same.
I will be doing it to my sc coming up- also a duck tail- it just looks so nice! |
There are two. But whatever rocks your boat, you use...I can provide either one.
