Anyone know anything about this car? Still on the fence and considering a 72T to eventually get to the E/S specs later. Am attracted to the one owner and hopefully no rust CA life....

I don't know anything about the car, but that sure is a unique idea for front speaker placement:

Hello
This looks like a E, this saler also has a 69 T Targa and a 912 on the auctions. From viewing all cars look like those typical first hand cars witch had seen there modifications in the middle years and now are on the edge to get turned into better or worse. Said 2,4 is a 72 oilflapper and only the dash shows the aging. All the expensive stuff is still in there and can be refurbrished or just leave the "patina". Right now at 5100 $ it comes out from the "sure" buys. maybe a Lister in the Bay area can have a look at it especially on the expensive parts ( MFI, Rust on the pan ). I still have somwhere a buisiness card from Frederiuqe in SF but if its a good car he might buy it for himself and tell you it was a junker. Grüsse |

Without looking at the car? Well, look at Jack's "before" pics of black beauty...this could be a great starting point car for a project. Or, could be one huge headache. Take your pick...

I've been watching the auction for the '69T, since I'm always in the market for a nice early Targa :-) The seller is too much of a question mark for me to consider them. They used to have the eBay ID "carsalesonline" and it was revoked for some reason.

Hello
Now from my german sight geting the car for 5000$ is where the parting out brings back the money plus I still have a shell to start a project. Yet the interior allone can bring some 2-3000 $ and if the carpets are reusable or restorable add another 500 $. Good sounddeadening rear bucket area and "parcel shelf" will also add some 200 $ If I´m lucky the car has the boge niveaumat witch will bring some 1000 $ plus the calipers on them will bring another 1000 $ Early correct Fuchs with the correct date stamp will add another 1-2000 $. And with some aftermarked wheels and some newer Interiour the car is salable as striped lightwight track car. Yet to achive those prices you have to reomve them carefully with costs more then just tearing out and you need the costumers who seek those parts desperatly to pay back soon. If you have to store and add other costs the calculation goes down. But the goal would be to "retouch" the car slightly ( cleaning, dedenting without respry maybe respry partially, go trough the mechanics and review the brake system, maybe new tires and if it comes to germany it has to pass TÜV & Emmission ) and sale it as it is. If the car is sound it can bring 15 - 20000 $ on the german marked and the oilflap & bluemetallic makes turnaround fast. Right now with some 5000$ plus shiping and costums the car is out from interesst as if theings get worse the investment will not pay back and the car has to be broken ( my heart will brake too ) or the investment to sale it in a good condition that the costumer will reward will not be equal. Thats car buisiness. Grüsse |

That's a no brainer. Buy it. In my opinion, condition and history count for a lot. One owner? Yeah!!
72 T's go pretty well. They have the forged crank, and only a couple of camshafts set them apart from the E. All the interior goodies such as the gauges should be S spec (apart from front seats) and If you take a look at the chassis you may see 16mm sway bars front and rear. Same Fuchs, gorgeous filler flap and notorious story to go with it. What are you waiting for? A T is every inch a Porsche. ------------------ '72 911 TE |

Matt? FA-18C bought an E. See his other post. But if the basics are solid, always a big if, this T could make a fine project car.

Hello
Sorry, no E, VIN: 91121 startet a confusion as german T´s have 91125. Also headrests and aluminium rocker cover where optional on T while standard on E. Grüsse, Roland |

Talk about a good project car, buy my friends 2.4T for 2K, have him weld in the front suspension pan (only rust on the car) or do it your self and have a minimal investment in what could be a track car, RS conversion or whatever. The car is complete, 2K seems right to me. Only problem is the car is in New Mexico. I'd like to see somebody on this board get the car. Email me and I'll get you more details.

apologize about the vague Q in the post, it was when I was hemming over whether to buy the 70E or not....am busy collecting parts to make the car more original...btw, are S calipers the only ones that are aluminum? the fronts appear to be aluminum (silver) as do the rears, but the rears look new...also, anyone know where I can get a 72-73 mirror let me know, like the look better, again, thanks to all....the projects begin
