I sort of lump wax in the catagory of toothpaste and soap.....use it ofter and you won't have a problem. Seriously, I use a pure wax,(Mequires Hi Tech Yellow wax), that has no abrasives and is easy to use. If you keep your car clean with no residue accumulations (new car smoothness), this is all you need. Many waxes now have cleaners that are not needed for those whose car are clean. Another good one is a pure glaze that is very easy to use but does not last as long. Those arm breaking paste waxes are a thing of the past.

Hi there,
Just started using Zymol. It's a terrific product, and does a much better job than Nu Finish, which is what I was using before. Good Luck. JON '85 targa |

My car is guards red. I really like the shine that Zymol gives. It leaves the car looking like glass. The only problem is that Zymol involves a bit more elbow grease than other waxes (ie. takes a long time).
When I don't feel like spending an entire day waxing the car with Zymol I'll use P21s. The shine is almost as deep, and it buffs out very easily. Check out http://www.carcareonline.com They've got great prices and reviews of just about every wax out there. ------------------ Dan Tolley 1987 911 Coupe http://www.cheaterswayside.com/911/gallery.asp?sort=0&userid=294 |

Get yourself a lightweight random orbital buffer to make the process a lot faster and easier on the shoulders.
Nufinish-no, no, no Meguires-ok, didn't last long outside Zymol-tried once, very glossy and brought back the color color Mothers-never tried |

Zymol (German), which also goes on easiest.

Have tried many brands. To polish, 3M products. But for wax, nothing but Zymol.

Mother's. And contrary to John 70t's suggestion, I would not use a random orbital buffer. Use good old fashion elbow grease.

Meguire's works...and yes,I have a few concours awards as evidence. Just braggin'.
Edit subject: Actually it probably isn't as much what you use as it is how well you use it. That's what she said...[This message has been edited by pwd72s (edited 10-15-2001).] |

Monthly wipe down with acetone, that's it.
Actually McGuires # 7 followed by Blitz. Restores the shine and lasts awhile. Mrdi |

Costco has started selling Zymol cleaner/wax that really works. Best part is it smells great.

Zymol, Zymol, Zymol followed by pure Carnuba paste wax (as many coats as you can put on). No circular motions on dark paints, causes swirls. Use back and forth motions instead!
