NFS PU cars

Anyone know of any good car downloads, and where to get them?
I have the GT2 and 3 from EA. ran 1:28:21 on the monte carlo quick race with the GT2.

I would love to have the Jagermeister set 934-962.

Also Xmas brought me F1 2002 from my brother.(must have been cheap on closeout) Much more difficult so far.
Those things are QUICK.
TIA

David,

Unfortunately there is very little customization available in NFS PU. The only things that you can do are repaint the available cars, download the 4 or 5 EA cars, re-texture the tracks (same layout), and remodel the car physics some. Unless something has changed very recently there are no other cars available to add into PU other than the EA cars, 959, 928, GT3 GT2, and it seems like there might be one other, but I can't remember right now. None of the race cars are available except the GT1 and 935/78 which is part of the game. Your best bet is to play all of the way through the evolution mode which will give you access to all of the cars in the game and all of there mods. That's where the real fun starts.

Unfortunately I am not aware of any 956, 962, 917, 934, 936 cars available for that game.

I found lots of custom Porsches for that game but I can't remember where. I even had a 914/8

Only problem is, since I upgraded to Windows XP pro I can't get NFS to run on my 'puter. It starts to load and locks up big time. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the 3d software. I'm running directX8 but I think there's a problem with my video card.

I even got a new steering wheel and pedal assembly for my birthday I can't use

keep working on it, I haven't had a problem with NFS on my install of XP Pro. Make sure you get the newest drivers for your video card. If it's an Nvidia GeForce based card I would probably use the Nvidia drivers.

I just bought an AMD Duron 1100 CPU and motherboard on e-bay, that will allow me to use my good video card instead of the 32 meg. PCI vid card I have installed now, plus I'll be able to install most of the ram I have laying around (no, I don't collect it, it just shows up :-)

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be cheating at NFS PU again

This can be solved by making sure that the virtual memory XP uses is set to a specified range, like between 256-512MB. It should work after that

(I used to have a 73 RSR, but never found it again. Talk about tail happy )

Thanks TigerTrash! I'm now able to satisfy my need for a 914-6 in NFS!

Try these links too:

Did you ever notice how the cars in PU are scaled down in relation to the road?

They are supposedly developing a definitive version of NFS: Porsche for GC, PS2, XBox, and PC. I have heard it will have many models left out of the original (924, 916, 904,917, 962, 928, 968), many derivitives left out (the various RSs, CSs, Turbo Ss), and of course, the new cars (Carrera GT, Boxster 3.2, 996 GT2) and - rumor has it - a rally mode featuring the 911 RS Safari, 959 Gruppe B, and Cayenne! I don't know how much of this is truth and how much is grapevine imagination.

Are there better driving games out there in terms of realistic simulation? I like Porsche Unleashed - the cars "feel" right. But it's non-immersive when you can flip over three times and keep driving! In flight simulators, you crash and buddy that's all!

Also the PU cars are scaled down in relation to the road.

The most realistic game that I know of is Grand Prix Legends which is basically the '67 Grand Prix season in a game. The game is quite old, but there are tons of upgrades for the graphics, cars, graphics card support, sounds, tracks, etc.... There is a really big learning curve on that one and you pretty much have to have a decent wheel and pedals to play. The learning curve is due to the fact that you are driving with pretty realistic physics in a car with several hundred hp, at around 10 grand with skinny hard little tires. The best part is that if you can find it, it's pretty cheap since it's so old.

It has a huge following and has several boards like this one discussing the cars, graphics, car setups, race times, there are also racing leagues online.

I´ve playing the PU at about 40-60 hrs at this time now and got a lot of cars which I buy´n sell.

At this moment circa 8pcs 935/78 Moby Dick and 3 pcs GT1 and about 20 millions in my account.

BUT how to get these GT2 and GT3 cars!!

I cleared all races, all tournaments, all classics etc.

No cheats here.

How to get GT2, GT3, 959 etc?..

I believe the gt2, 3, 959 didn't come with the game but had to be downloaded.

I just downloaded and added 928 GTS, 959, GT2 and GT3 to PU, but I can´t buy them in career mode?.

Anyone?

Edit: I have a sweish version of NFS PU and I translate directly.
Karriär --> career.
Or is it Evolution, the button at left after the choose player screen?.

Anybody tried the Cayenne at EA's website? You can play on-line after you register, I think you start with another car until your times are fast enough then more tracks open up and the Cayenne shows up as an option to drive. Don't try it without DSL or cable modem, it works with dial-up but it takes forever to load the games.

in my game all three of the cars showed up in the showroom at different times, (obviously, as the time progresses), you have to keep checking the showroom. the 959 cost 1 million, but as you go on they will periodically pop up in the used car section for 600000 to 1000000. same goes for the 2 and 3

Porsche Unleashed was released for the PC in 2000 (also known as Porsche 2000 for ROW). I spent countless months playing it, mostly online (the online racing bit is still available) System requirements are fairly low compared to current PC standards. It's a fun game, and the tracks are fairly challenging. Be sure to download the optional stock cars (928 GTS, 959 and GT3 if I remember correctly). I used to race stock (unmodified) cars only since it was more fun. The 73 RS and the 78 Moby Dick are a kick. There's still a loyal fan base and you can find them on http://www.racerplanet.com/forum. A wheel is nice, but you can do quite well with a digital joystick.

The latest incarnation of the NFS line, NFS:Hot Pursuit 2, is not up to par with PU, but online multiplayer is quite fun. The only p-car in the game is the 996 Turbo unfortunately.

The most realistic GT racing games I've played recently are Live For Speed (http://lfs.bhmotorsports.com) which is currently in Beta and is a free download. It's worthy to be compared to GPL in terms of realism. The third-party GTR2002 module for EA's F1 2002 is reportedly quite good as well. There's an older game, Sports Car GT, which is quite fun but not as realistic (grass effects seems wrong) but it has a number of the SCCA tracks (Road Atlanta for example) You can find this in the bargin bin these days bundled with SuperBike 2000.
