Hood lights on an IROC style car?

I'm picking up an impact bumper car that has fiberglass IROC style bumpers (widebody steel flares) and wondering if the factory ever used hood lights on competition impact bumper cars?

Wouldn't that be a long hood car. 72 with the oil tank on the rear quarter?

Actually the cibie pallas style lamps were used on 74/75 model year cars. If you check out in the day pics of the cars running at Le Mans, you will see some of the G body 911's with these individual lamps. Same goes for rally events of the period.
One of our clients has a 74 euro carrera targa that came with fender corner mounted Cibies from the factory (special order at the time no doubt)

Awesome - thanks. Thought I had seen it, but didn't know if it was true period.

Yes, Rodsrsr, this one is a 1972 longhood, before it was transformed. Not my first choice, but it has a lot of other really cool pluses that make me overlook the loss of the early body style.

Thanks. I do like the IROC look, but taking it back to a longhood, and an RSR at that is the goal. Just have to fit an intercooler under a ducktail....

It's funny - because it isn't totally original, I feel much more free to modify to my liking, which is great. Working with older VWs and Audis and BMWs, it is refreshing to run into that in the Porsche world.

And while I'm on here - anyone that doesn't appreciate who TRE is, what they do, and what they bring to the community, in craftsmanship, product and knowledge, should take some time to familiarize yourself with the business.

Thanks for contributing to my little inquiry thread.
