Rebuilding pedal cluster... Need a new brake spring
I'm rebuilding the pedal cluster on my 78 SC and I want to replace the brake return spring. I thought I found the part and ordered it only to get the dreaded NLA email. So does anyone know a replacement for the 911-423-531-03 brake return spring?
My original has rusted away so it's probably not putting out the torque it should. If o can't find a suitable replacement then I will order the closest spec spring from McMaster and see if I can get the to work. Thanks for the help! Pete |
Pete... check with DC Automotive, Oklahoma Foreign, LA Dismantlers. One or all of these places is likely to have it... used. When you find part, be specific about quality you want or you may get a rusted part as you already have.

Karl, thanks for suggestion.
Looking my old spring, I think the arm that presses against the housing broke and now is shorter than original. I'm going to try and use it. To prevent it from slipping on the housing, I fit and bonded on a thin piece of steel.
