Wow... this goes a long way in describing the demographic difference between 944 owners and 911 owners.
I spend hours trying to figure out how to get my 911 to NOT run rich, and to NOT have any excess sparks. The LAST thing I want are flames shooting out my exhaust (it might ruin my fresh coat of Zymol).

Please dont affiliate 944/951 owners with these beligerant idiot kids who come and post their garbage on the 924/944 bbs, it's very discouraging. he plauges rennlist with his gibberish too. How frustrating!!!!!

What about the annual smog test?

rstoll 10-14-2001 05:00 AM

Those 944s are too dependable. They don't have enough legitimate work to do on them.

rstoll- "Those 944s are too dependable. They don't have enough legitimate work to do on them." -How right you are.

My brother bought an '88 944S at the same time I bought my 911. So far he's had to change the oil, and put on new tires. I don't even know where to start with my list of "fixes".

Not all of us want flames shooting out the back of our cars, just one moron.

Look at what he puts in for his occupation,
this may explain a few things.

Thank God (and Wayne), we have our own 911 forum so we don't have to comunicate with those morons.

patalive 10-14-2001 02:53 PM

Next thing you'll know he'll be putting hydraulics and "Truespokes" on the car.

thabaer 10-15-2001 01:17 PM

Hey gang,

One look at this, http://www.rubberburner.com, and I think you'll agree it could be worse here.

Chuck does have a point, too!

Agree, it's insane.
Funny though. Better watch out on our responses in case this thread starts another one of those tedious 911 vs 944 arguements. The guy with that dumb idea was just a school kid, not your typical 944 owner. You have to hand it to him though, at least he's trying hard(at what I'm not sure).
Lets be civil, and remember that at least if he starts a fire with thatcoil enhanced exhaust gear, he has plenty of water in the radiator with which to douse it.
Heck, admit it; our 911's would certainly not be in such a fortunate position if something went wrong. It's all about perspective. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif

Next topic: 'Betta Flaymz- should i use a Pertronix, Permatune, CDI or MDS unit to fire my manifold mounted Ignytor Coil????'

Matt

You've figured it out! That must be why the 996 is watercooled...

And I for one, would be using an MSD for tailpipe ignition duties --> multiple spark = better.

Jim Smolka 10-16-2001 02:43 AM

Let's remember that 911s will spit fire out the back too, but this is due to a turbo's wastegate doing its job at the track http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/cool.gif
