door card plastic protection tacky adhesive

Which tacky adhesive can I purchase to attach the plastic sheet divider to the door panel. The plastic Im referring to the plastic that is between the door card and door panel (pictured)
I tried 3M weatherstripping glue which hardens ... I need something that will stay tacky And not dry hard. Is there a product for this specific job.
Thanks

I use this stuff. Stretch it out a little as you apply it to the door so it's not so thick.

That butylene tape can also usually be purchased at glass and mirror shops.

Outdoor grade blue painters tape. Not nearly such a gooey mess next time you need access inside the door.

I'm planning on using 3M Super 77 spray adhesive I have left over from my interior work. We'll see how that goes....

Use the strip caulk. Trim adhesive is a flippin mess!! You can scrape the caulk off and clean off the residue with citrus cleaner. You get two to three “pull off plastic and reapply” episodes with the strip caulk. Also, i use heavy mil plastic from home depot and heat with a Heat gun or blow dryer to stretch it in cup shapes where need be. You can make deeper cups with the strip caulk to weld the plastic together. Did it all the time for car audio installs.

I have a friend with a picture framing shop and I used some 3M double sided adhesive tape I got from him. I have taken it off and replaced it twice and it still stuck. Looks like the stock stuff
