Free 69 912

I may be getting a 69 912 sunroof coupe for free, I am supposed to go look at the car today. The car has been completely stripped so it is really just a free shell. I was wondering if all the parts for the early 911's and this car are the same? I did a search of previous posts and got confliting yes/no answers. Also would it be possible to put 3.0-3.6 into a 69 912 shell or are we talking about huge amounts of modifications? In all honesty I not interested in the car if only a four cylinder can be put in there. If I don't end up taking the car I will post the owners information here and on the 912 board if anyone is interested.
Thanks
Ryan

sounds like it could be interesting...I think that older engines will mount right up, but I don't know about the newer ones. Sounds like a fun project.

I'm a 69 912 owner (and appreciate the 4 cyl. engine.) and have torn down a 67 & 68 912. Parts readily interchange but 69-89 has the best interchange possibilities. Calipers, rotors, etc. are different from 911 to 912 but they are an easy modification. I heard you may need to hammer out the transmission hump to mount a 915 transmission but since you'd have a shell, you can easily modify it. Fun project.

Ahhh, memories. I really liked my '69 912. First year of the long wheelbase cars, meaning better interior airflow as well as the other advantages. And the lines of the car itself...very pure. I still have a pic of my old car hanging on a wall...
