Need new rear shocks 33mm torsions
So I've been driving my car with the new 33mm rear torsion bars for about a month and they're getting tired. What should I run? I have bilstien hd all around.
I rebuilt the fronts already and they seem really good. I liked the hd before they got spongy. The rears are about 15 years old I'd have to say. So maybe another set of those? I'd like a nice stuff ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Send them to Elephant for a rebuild and custom valve.

Counterclockwise?

Wow that is one thick torsion bar.
You should be matching the rest of the suspension to it.

I had my 12 year old Bilstein sports rebuilt/re-valved by Elephant Racing when I moved up to 30mm torsion bars in the rear with new Rebel spring plate bushings. Feels like new and the rebound circuit is now properly valved for the stiffer spring rate, compression too obviously. Did the front TBs and struts as well of course.

I wonder how long it would take for elephant to do them. All the rest of the suspension is new. Elephant Spring plates, thicker front torsion bars, front shocks, tie rods and all that stuff is new.

Thanks 911 rod and Richard new. I'll look into both. I called elephant and the guy that does the shocks is out for the day.

believe bilstein sports are firmer than HDs, you might want to f/u with Elephant to get their thoughts on how good of a match they'd be to your rear TBs (as you should be able to get these a lot faster than a rebuild of your existing)?

+1 for Elephant . . . call and ask about current time frame for rebuild . . .
They did our old Bilsteins and matched up well with new spring coil overs . . . And, they warranty their work - they did a 3 day turn around for us . . . Regards,

Elephant had my shocks for about 4 days. With 3000 mile cross-country ground shipping both ways, they were off the car for about two weeks.
