'89 930 no longer for sale...
Cause I bought it!
I've been lurking for a while now but thought I'd go 'official' before I post to the V8 thread (ha). I'll post a pic from the lot until I have a chance to take some of my own. 1989 930 Black on tan, 38k miles... For reference, I also have a 68 912 (basket case) that I bought for $1000 when I was 15, in boxes and with holes through the floor. Ended up with 2 motors though when it was all sorted out Back then a Turbo was what I really wanted but $1000 broke me, especially when I got parts-sticker-shock! I read Harry Pellow like it was the Bible (sorry, God ![]() Also have a '97 Toyota Land Cruiser 40th Anniversary, and love that too. Blah blah blah, but thanks to all on boards like these who share info. freely! Makes me almost like the internet... -Todd 89 930

Negative, Mark. This one came from beautiful Kansas City, KS (the OTHER side of KC). A California original with a 5 month 'vacation' in KC...
I think she's happy to be back in CA...runs soooo much better at sea level (yes, yes, I know it's all to do with atmospheric pressure but I still think she likes it better here)... Cheers!

Sarah (and husband)'s car is slightly different, (rims?, year?), and is in winter storage, according to previous posts. Not a very good winter car in Minnesota.

Just because Sarah's car is in storage doesn't mean she has to be. I kind of miss her being around.
And you're right Todd. A 911 has to like California way better than Kansas City.

Nice choices. I also have a '97 TLC (which is handy today with some snow coming down) and a '79 930.
Beautiful car - welcom aboard. Jeb '79 930

Any post with "930" in it gets my attention.
![]() Hi...yep I'm still around...and last time I checked (this morning) the 930 was safely tucked-in in the garage. I'm just getting back to my daily scanning of the pelican board. I went on vacation in December (St. Thomas was beautiful) and our office has hardly been open the last two weeks because of all of the holidays. It is hard not driving the 930 at the moment because there is no snow on the ground, and I keep thinking of all the days we could have been driving it. But....if we did not get it ready for winter then I know we would have gotten stuck in an ice storm or something (I know...I'm just trying to make myself feel better... )Todd - Congrats on your "new to you" hot porsche!!

Todd,
When I hear the term 930, images of a car exactly like yours pop into my head. Very, very nice. Is it going to be a driver? I hope you leave the stock cosmetics alone...they look so damn bad ass that way. Best of luck to you. |

Thanks to all for the encouragement (again)! Sarah's black beauty is striking as well!
I'm planning mild engine mods. (K27, headers), nothing cosmetic except for a bra to keep the stone chip gremlins away. I'd love to get some RUF wheels as well, love those wheels on that car! It being an '89 with only 38k on the clock...well let's just say that the odometer is going to get used quite a bit but I'll stick to the Land Cruiser as often as I can help myself. I really love this car/year/color and even though I'm not one to disparage mods. (the LC has an OME lift, ARB bull, and TRD supercharger) this 930 is a bit to special to me to go mucking about with too much...that's what the 912 is still around for I guess! However the P-car was MEANT to be driven... Cheers!
