Steve-I may be able to join you guys, even though I am "Porscheless in Atlanta" at the moment. It appears you're going to need all the help you can get with so many cars! My only request is that someone pick me up in their Porsche and drive me there....faaassst!!!!LOL! My former baby will be there with Ron Egan (the new owner) as a demonstrator model on how the a/c system is supposed to work in it's complteley original form. One thing concerns me : alot of these cars have been f#cked with over the years in regards to refrigerant; are you bringing a recovery unit with a refrigerant identifier? If not, we will need to do something that your certification instructor would frown upon...if you know what I mean! An example of this is Adam Nitti, he brought his car to me to recharge using his own R12 cans which he pruchased over the internet...that **** was labled R12, but smelled like paint!!! I have no idea what it was, but I was pissed because I used MY manifold during the charging-I had to replace my guages in fear of contaminating my customer's equipement! Keep that in mind, guys...we need to know what you think has been in your systems during its' life in order to properly repair them.

Steve, add me to the list, the timing is perfect. I am using 134 and after recharging, it lasts for a week or so then goes warm. Was planning on having a leak test done this spring then make the repairs before summer. Should I get the leak test done first or can we do this at your shop?

Hi doug
Good hearing from you and appreciate your help. I will have a couple of recovery tanks available R-12, 123A and maybe a spare if needed along with a recovery machine. Our company has a shop in Fayetteville, so I think that will be a good place to meet. I havn't set a date yet but as time gets closer I will post notice and see what we can do to come up with a date for everyone to participate. As far as a ride, I am sure someone will oblige you on that side of town. Steve "A Porsche does more then just go fast in a straight line" |

I'd be more than happy to host this at my place. 2 post lift available ;) Maybe you want to do a north of Atlanta gathering, and a south of Atlanta gathering. Looks likes a lot of folks want to partake.

Stormcrow, its starting to heat up a bit, any news on the clinic or have I missed the event?
|
Looking at doing it in April or May. Needs to be done when it's warm and there is a good heat load on the evaporator, otherwise you may overcharge the system.
I will be going to Hershey in April, but otherwise the rest of the weekends are open. The last week in May I will be going to FLA for my wife's graduation (she has just completed her Doctrate in Psychology) I will look at my schedule for the next two months (have to check with the wife) and see which days would work. Looking at April 19, and May 17 as tenative dates. Steve "A Porsche does more then just go fast in a straight line" |
Glad to hear I did not miss the event! May 17 looks good and the heat should be up there by then. We should have a large turnout from the previous posts,
